Wilmington, DE (Clarity Times) The Biden-Harris administration plans to immediately reverse most of the Trump administration executives’ orders on immigration.
According to an anonymous source close to the Biden transition team, the president asks Congress to offer legal status to an estimated 11 million people in the country with no permanent status. Among those concerned by this measure, figure the DACA recipients and people living in the US with a temporary protected status TPS.
For now, it is unclear how the Republicans in Congress will react. If congress agreed with the president‘s plan, this will be a big relief for millions of people. The last four years of the Trump administration had been very stressful for undocumented immigrants who were constantly facing threats of detention and deportation.
President-elect Joseph R. Biden is expected to sign several executive orders and announce legislation on immigration and many other issues on his first day in office on Wednesday, January 20, 2021.
