Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., better known by his stage name Lil Wayne has been charged with a federal weapons charge. The rapper may possibly face serious prison time if found guilty of the charges.
Lil Wayne, who is a felon, has been charged by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida with one count of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon. According to TMZ, in December 2019 federal agents searched Lil Wayne’s plane at the Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport and found a gun, ammunition and drugs on board of the plane.
Dwayne Michael Carter was previously convicted in New York, In 2009, for illegally carrying guns. He may spend 10 years in prison if convicted. Mr. Carter is scheduled to appear in court in Miami in December.
