Washington (Clarity Times) The GOP senate confirms judge Amy Coney Barrett to replace Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The vote went across party lines 52-48 except for Senator Susan Collins of Maine, who votes against judge Barrett.
Republican Susan Collins has expressed concerns that the timing is not appropriate at one week of Election Day to consider a nominee.
Amy Coney Barrett, 48 years old, will be the youngest seating justice in the supreme court and the third justice appointed by President Donald Trump.
With this confirmation, the republican party takes control of the supreme court with 6 conservative justices against 3 liberal justices.
